Game Trailers - Battlefield 3: "Is It Real?"

The life-action-trend continues. The folks at Electronic Arts are able to approach it in a slightly different way, though. For they have the Frostbyte-Engine. And apparently they are mighty proud of it.

Next week the highly anticipated Battlefield 3 will be released. And yesterday they released a Launch-Trailer. Probably best to watch it first:

Review - Metro 2033

Yesterday Metro 2033 was on sale on Steam and you could buy it for 2.50€. As I wanted to play a shooter anyhow and I also wanted to see how far I could push my system, I bought it on the spur of the moment. Metro 2033 is supposed to be quite hardware-hungry. Unfortunately the download didn't finish yesterday evening but today it was ready. So I sat down and checked it out for some 45 minutes.

Game Trailers - "I Am Batman!"

Since the first "trailer" in this series already wasn't really a trailer, but rather some kind of advertisement (in fact every trailer is actually also advertisement, but not every advertisement is also a trailer...), I shamelessly continue this trend and again analyse an ad. And even life-action again! Perhaps I just like the concept of showing gamers instead of games. But in doing so they technically save the hassle of showing actual in-game-sequences that make your mouth water. Instead they just show a bunch of guys having fun (or whatever) playing the game. And hopefully we buy into it because, well, we see that it's fun!

But first things first: Which one is the better Batman?

First Post In The "Game Trailers"-Series - PS3: "Michael"

About one and a half weeks ago the Sony-PR-Invention "Kevin Butler" tweeted the following:

After I had watched this I couldn't help but watch it several times more. I tried to figure out which games i recognized and after I had identified some read what other people had discovered. Well, I can tell you there's definitely plenty of stuff to find.

Now, while combing through the piles of articles that accumulate every morning in my Google Reader I came across the full Trailer (or however you want to call it):

First Post

Hey there! Welcome to my (new) blog. As I am unhappy with the way my previous blogs went on, I'm trying anew. Here's what I want to change:
  1. Be more focused. The previous blogs (well, at least the ones that have more then a handful posts) were too wide ranged. So this one will only be about video-games. Which doesn't mean that I won't post something not directly gaming-related if it absolutely blows me away and I think it is impossible not to mention it. But most of the stuff I want to write about is gaming-related and I don't want to feel pressured into writing something about stuff I don't really want to write about.
  2. I'll try writing in english. It's probably going to be quite hard and cost me a lot of time, but the plan is not to worry too much about if I make mistakes. Leo will probably get my most-used toolbar-shortcut, but I think it will be worth it. There are three reasons  for this decision: First, all the blogs I read are in english and with that, all my information is in english. Second, the games I play, I play in english. And third I have discovered that I don't want to write a blog that is very restricted because of it's language.
  3. It'll only be me writing. This way, it is probably going to be more personal. And it's only my motivation I have to worry about.
Just to get started, I'm going to try to translate some of the posts I've made in the old blogs. Let's see how that works out. I'll give them their original date, so that references to other dates stay correct. But the blog in fact started on January 30th, 2012.

Btw. this is the previous blog.
